Transfer photos from iPhone to PC without a cable

A cable works until you don't have one, the port is loose, or the PC won't recognize the phone. Browser pairing skips all of that.

How to do it

  1. Open sparedisk.com on the PC and on the iPhone.
  2. Scan the QR code with the second device, which shows a short reply code.
  3. Type that reply code into the first device to finish pairing.
  4. Pick the photos on the iPhone and send them.
  5. Find the files in your browser's downloads folder on the PC.

When a cable is still better

For thousands of files, a wired connection or a drive can be more predictable. SpareDisk suits quick batches and moments when you have no cable.

Works the other way too

Send files from the PC to the iPhone using the same pairing.

Try it with the two devices you have

Open SpareDisk on both, scan the QR code, type the reply code, and send. Free to start, no account.

Questions

Do I need iTunes?

No. SpareDisk runs in the browser.

Does the PC need to be on the same Wi-Fi?

Not required, though a direct connection is more likely to succeed on the same network. Strict networks can block direct connections.
